Welcome to Benchtop (benchtop.tools). By accessing or using this site (the "Site"), its tools, and its games, you agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

The service

Benchtop provides a collection of free, browser-based utilities for developers and general users, such as formatters, converters, generators, and calculators, as well as optional daily games. Tools run in your browser. Games may use an optional account for streaks and friends.

We may add, change, or remove tools, games, and features at any time, and we may modify or discontinue the Site (in whole or in part) without notice.

Accounts and conduct

Game accounts are optional and intended for players 13 years of age or older. You are responsible for activity under your account. Display names must not impersonate others, use prohibited language, or otherwise violate these Terms. We may rename or ban accounts that abuse the service, cheat on competitive features, harass other players, or attempt to circumvent rate limits and integrity checks.

You may request account deletion by contacting us. We may retain anonymized aggregate score statistics after deletion.

No warranty — provided "as is"

The Site and all tools are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any tool's output will be accurate or reliable.

Results are informational only

The outputs of Benchtop tools — including but not limited to the mortgage, sales tax, tip, and AdSense revenue calculators — are estimates provided for general informational purposes only. They are not professional, financial, legal, tax, or accounting advice, and should not be relied upon as such. Always verify important results independently and consult a qualified professional before making financial or legal decisions.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, attack, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Site, its servers, or its infrastructure.
• Use automated means to access the Site in a way that imposes an unreasonable load, or to scrape or republish the Site in a manner that competes with or misrepresents it.
• Use the tools to process content you do not have the right to process, or in any way that infringes the rights of others.
• Cheat, falsify scores, automate gameplay submissions, or otherwise undermine the integrity of games or social features.

Intellectual property

The Site's design, layout, text, and original code are owned by Benchtop or its operator and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may use the tools for their intended purpose, but you may not copy, resell, or redistribute the Site itself without permission. Output you generate from the tools using your own input is yours to use.

Third-party content and advertising

The Site displays advertising served by Google and its partners, and may contain links to third-party websites. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, ads, products, or services, or for the privacy practices of third-party sites. Your interactions with advertisers or linked sites are solely between you and that third party.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Benchtop and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Site or any tool, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Benchtop and its operator from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your misuse of the Site or violation of these Terms.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located there.
